The journey from March 2021, when the idea for the Equal Partners app first formed, to our launch in March 2023 has been more of a marathon than a sprint but it’s hugely exciting to be launching the app across IOS and Android platforms, and interacting properly with customers and app users for the first time. As this has been my first (only!) App launch, it’s been such a learning process and, a bit like designing a house, there are countless decisions and options that we’ve been wrestling with to make the App as intuitive and effective as possible. I also recognise that Equal Partners is currently an MVP or Minimal Viable Product, and I’m excited to see how the App develops post launch as we listen to users and add new features. I already think it would nice to track steps and calories burned on the app to see how much exercise those household chores account for, or be able to add photos to show before and after task pictures. Perhaps music or song lists might be a nice additional feature too, and it’ll be great to get feedback through the website or directly at jim@equalpartners.app about changes or improvements you’d like to see. I also would like to thank the team at Innovate Design, and my business partner Ben, who have been supporting me on this journey for their advice and patience to get to launch. I also feel with the proximity of International Women’s Day that the App had never been more relevant, and hope it can play a small part in a more equal sharing of roles.
